Mill operators hypothesis challenges Prates in an idea Miller suggests the insignificance of the proficient expressions later on lives of understudies as in educated expressions can't take care of the issues in our way of life, while Pratt stresses the significance of the proficient expressions in that figuring out how to utilize them in a self-intelligent way can improve ones capacity to inferno the issues in our way of life, and standing up to this present reality might be to a great extent considered an issue of this present reality all by itself. Albeit each of the four Of the creators referenced already have admirable sentiments, my assessment in relationship to theirs takes a significant jump. Fries paper is the one could identify with the most observing that by far most Of my thirteen years Of past training depended on the financial idea of instruction. I concur with Firers feeling that the safe method of instructing understudies ought to be killed, anyway I don't concur that it will have such a terrible effect n the world as he depicts it will. Eave a similar understanding and conflict with Millers paper. As I would like to think the educating of proficient expressions ought not be so totally centered around how it will fix certain issues in our way of life or improve our way of life, yet I have a comprehension of how it could influence The way that the entirety of the writers referenced in this exposition make real focuses and associate triggers my contemplations. When I join every single toothier thought and sentiments reach a resolution that consummately depicts how might address the inquiry Math are the proficient expressions useful for? My conviction is that the educated expressions are not contradicted to be so profoundly delved into that they control how society acts and responds, The proficient expressions are possibly viewed as negative when they are associated with viewpoints that they dont essentially should be associated with, for example, the brutal culture changes Miller makes reference to in his exposition (423).

Introduction When the play starts, Thebes is kind of suffering from a plague disaster which leaves everything including individuals in a bad state. King Oedipus, who is associated with Thebes, sends his brother into law, Creon, all the way to Apollo to ask what can at least end the hazard. The possible ideology to end the disaster can only be found in the killer of King Laius is found. While Oedipus hears this, he swears to find the killer within the shortest time possible. On the other hand, Long days journey into night is set around the summer of the Tyrone family, August in the year 1912. The proceeding starts around the morning, sometime before the breakfast period. As time goes on, it is learned that Mary returns to her family after she receives some good treatment in sanatorium associated with bathe morphine addiction. This paper aims at critically comparing the ancient Oedipus Rex and the modern long days journey into night. In addition, a comparison will be in terms of compelling pictures of hu8man weakness associated with pride and ego. It is an unsavory problem for someone to be taken into consideration with a curse. The destiny that is given within the midst of the tale is a motive to make the story entrancing. To keep with for as ways again as you may recollect information that you may definitely kill your father and marry your mother is statistics like that have to be unthinkable to the human cannot break out you are predetermination paying little mind to what you attempt to do and the way hard your assignment. Oedipus is the story of a ruler of Thebes who perseveres thru the scary consequences of fate. In the midst of a time of torment, fires, and awesome kinds of troubles, Oedipus makes a float to restore life and prospering to his nation, wherein he discovers via this traveler that his individual isnt always what the concept. In this time, he reveals that he has killed his very personal father, married his non-public mom, and had youngsters together with her. Inside no time, mother Jocasta kills herself subse quent to understanding fact and Oedipus ended up in blinding himself. This passes on me to the conclusion that theres nothing Oedipus should do approximately it. It is every of the 1ust consider to be and a defendant of predetermination. Oedipus destiny cant be changed. The fundamental ones who can in truth watch are outwardly weakened. Oedipus imaginative and prescient great eyes and knowledge have made him an outstanding master of Thebes, while he lit up the inquiry and moreover restoring the metropolis. Regardless, hes unaware of fact approximately his private precise existence. According to the given techniques, one wants to have the capacity to see a few issues, and functions the capacity to recognize it. On that assertion, Sophocles keeps the chance that honest to goodness find out does now not require eyes but as a substitute the capability to peer beyond the ground of things. It is 1ust surprising that the Tiresias is neglectful with recognize to the world but can see reality and Oedipus are oblivious regarding truth yet can the sector. Regardless, he comprehends his visual predicament to reality within the wake of understanding his very personal identification and spotting horrendous topics he did coincidentally. Every man or woman has the positive most remote factor and her or him on the spot life inner those precise limits in like way. An assumption in plenitude will ultimately apprehend the annihilation of the person associated. Exactly whilst a selected condition affects them to be incensed, she or he need to endeavor and stay calm, attempting now not to adjust something which can also attack some character in various measures. Basically, whilst a chum takes into account some prompts, they should be regarded as critical in moderate of the manner that that person watches over the sidekick picked. Every single such an urges need to be located below bodily games, with all what it takes to guarantee that the whole lot is under awesome control. Oedipus does now not have any choice approximately the issue, so he ends up butchering his luxurious father and marries his mother without definitely. Honestly, he is essentially endeavoring to avoid each certainly one of this stuff to occur. Suitably, how a person sets up his or her accuse relies upon an individual will. Individuals can have a choice to settle on minor selections and take a key pathway to the degree life is involved. On the other hand, the difficult days ride into the night time shows in particular to the overall populace. The play, circulated after lack of existence, addresses ONeills closing phrases to the masterful worldwide. Note that his play is not impugning in nature; no person is expected to be regarded as specifically greater deplorable than a few unique. This is one of the plays tremendous traits that show that many character imperfections may be visible as positives even as seen from a substitute factor of view. In this manner, Troublesome Days Stumble into Night places vivaciously inside the authoritative issues of lingo. It is a world wherein there may be a massive weight located on the deficiency of tightfistedness in place of the moderation of sensibility. The play in like manner makes an international wherein correspondence has remote. One of the sizable conflicts in the play is the characters uncanny frailty to skip on, however, their enduring appealing. For example, the men eve ry occasionally combat among themselves over Marys subjugation, but no person will confront her directly. Or maybe, they empower her to delude herself about her own specific oppression and about Edmunds disease. Edmund and Jamie do now not pass on nicely until the final show, at the same time as Jamie, in the end, concedes his very own particular envy of his kinfolk and need to see him crash and burn. Tyrone, in like way, can clearly reprove his children, however, his diligent nature may not empower him to understand enter. Most of the ones that want to choose upward thrust ahead are enormously alive for the Tyrones. Mary particularly cannot dismiss the beyond and every one of the dreams she once had of being a spiritual female or a performer. Tyrone too has reliably had excessive trusts in Jamie, who has been a consistent unhappiness. Each one of the disputes and the problems from the past cannot be left out, and, sincerely, they offer off an have an effect on of will surely be associated with a long term. It is critical to check that Saddling Days Enterprise into Night isnt always simplest a journey forward in time, but also an excursion over again into the past presences of the exceptional range of characters, who perseveringly dunk all another time into their antique existence. The play is all of the greater ugly in slight of the way that it leaves little look for after the future; truly, the future for the Tyrone must be seen as one long cycle of a reiterated past positive in with the resource of alcohol and morphine. This play comes to be conceded the Pulitzer Prize whilst it comes to be first appropriated, and it has remained a champion some of the maxima appeared plays of the 20th century. Perhaps most importantly, it has acquired business organization ground in mild of the manner that about each own family can see itself pondered in any event a couple of regions of the play. The Tyrone circle of relatives is not an outstanding own family, and it is truly no longer tough to become aware of with endless disputes and characters. The play has an uncommon enthusiasm to each the individual organization element and to analysts of American display, which elucidates its unmistakable best and continuing on laud. According to my own opinion, the long days journey into the night paints more accurately. This is simply because it has clearly illustrated some important themes which reflect the current society.

Mediea Marketing Strategies

Question: Discuss about the Mediea Marketing Strategies. Answer: Media Marketing The paper explores two media and communication companies and the marketing strategies used for the past ten years, the challenges, and success. The focus is Netflix and Time Warner companies. According to Slack (2015), market, the strategy of any organization comprises broad plans of selling product and to the consumers in the market. Marketing strategies are based on marketing mixes such as the price, promotion, place, and the product. Considering these aspects, the main aim of the management is to produce goods and services with unique characters to help sell and deliver benefit to the consumers Dodge (2015) argues that companies have target market segment in a particular geography, and proper pricing strategy is formulated in a bid to minimize loss and maximize the profit. Besides, varieties of channels are utilized to help sell the product while preserving the brand image of the corporation. In essence, Netflix and TimeWarner market strategies have similarities and differences. Netflix Description Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings founded the media and Communication Company 20 years ago in California, USA. The enterprise started as an idea of selling and renting DVDs through the internet. One of the core founder Hastings began the idea when he was late to return a rented tape, which led to $40 fine. The initial strategy focused on integrating the emerging technologies that included the internet and DVD. The individual would borrow the tape online, and the company would use U.S. Postal Service to deliver the requested movie the following day. After two years in the market, the firm introduced a monthly subscription system where customers would rent many DVDs at a go. In 2000, the company had not successfully managed to capture the market well because they only had a thousand subscribers and therefore not profit was realized (Liu 2014). The failures and success in the market prompted another market move when one of the core founder Hastings launched an alliance with the video-rental enterprise Blockbuster. The offer included offloading 49% of Netflix shares, but Blockbuster rejected the idea in totality. However, Hastings pushed on, and the company first realized a profit in 2002. The subscribers base began to expand as DVD titles kept growing until in 2007 when the management grabbed another opportunity rising (Dobbs 2014). Online streaming service was added to the company portfolio; it provided a chance to watch the content through an online platform. However, one of the problems affecting the company and the entire film industry was digital piracy, but the problem was solved through licensing (Liu 2014). From the year 2007 to 2009, the consumer subscription grew significantly to estimated 45 million members. Its strategies have helped the company deal with emerging threats, and from this decade, the company has become one of the leaders in its category globally. It has since diversified business to become the first internet TV-network. The consumer base has grown exponentially to estimated fifty million subscribers across the globe (Dobbs 2014) Time Warner Description Time Warner Inc. is a world leader in the provision of media and entertainment content, and its venture is in filmed entertainment, television networks, and publishing. The merger of Time Inc. and Warner Communications 1990 founded the media company. Warner was first incorporated in Los Angeles in 1923 in as Warner Brothers Pictures, Inc. Brothers Harry; a Polish immigrant cofounded the company together with Jack Warner, Albert, and Sam. The partners initially started the organization in Nickelodeon in Newcastle back in 1903 (Merali 2014). On the other hand, Time magazine was also formed the same time as it first appeared on March 3, 1923, and began selling copies of publications. Time founders include Henry R. Luce and Briton Hadden, and their target market was college educated residing in the United States during the. Time Warner currently has three divisions namely Warner Bros. Pictures Inc., Home Box Office Inc. (HBO), and Turner Broadcasting System Inc. The products specialization comprises the motion pictures, cable television, and broadcast media. There were also other divisions namely comic books, recorded music, magazines, hardcover books and online services were sold off to investors. Last year (2016) ATT showed interest in the acquisition of Time Warner Inc. and confirmed its offer of $85 billion that is yet to be completed (Merali 2014). Marketing Success and Challenges The paper analyses porters five forces in the industry in which Time Warner company and Netflix competes. The strongest of all in the model is the competitive rivalry faced by Time Warner Inc. the main competitors includes the Viacom Inc., The Walt Disney Company, News Corporation and NBCU Universal. Overall, these market shares controlled by these companies are 81.2% (Albarran Gormly 2004). In the coming decades, the company is likely to face threatening competition in the industry. However, to deal with competition challenges, the company has negotiated with big tech firms namely Apple and Samsung to help package its products. An example is its app in products like Samsungs Smart TV. Such deals are one of its successes, as it will enable consumers to streamline the company content at a lower price and thus reduce competition (Fitzgerald 2011). This is an added advantage because Time Warner Inc. could use the first in the industry to make such strategic move that could lessen the i ntensity of market rivalry in the market. The threat of new entrants is another force the company faces. In the recent decades, the number of media streaming sites has increased, and this is a threat to business revenue margin. However, there have been strategies, which have registered success in reducing the production revenue (Dobbs 2014). The firm has entered into licensing agreements with companies like Amazon and Netflix. The approach has allowed the cutting of high cost of production and further gain income to subsidize that cost. Price cutting further supported its ability to acquire new technology required to reduce the cost of production (Fitzgerald 2011). Teece (2010) explains that When Netflix entered the market in 1997; the management realized that brick-and-mortar strategies dominated the market. Its first method at the time included internet retailing, but father changed when online selling gained popularity to seize all the opportunity. The company designed the website in 1998 that made it possible to provide the goods and service to many consumers. Besides, Netflix has tested various pricing models to boost the sales volume. Jenner (2016) argues that Netflix had designed a number of strategies to counter the new entrants and other changes in the market to remain competitive. For example, use of video platform to provide services to its consumers. There has been success and failure of the market strategies. The company has liased with technology companies such as XBOX 360, Wii, PS3 which are available on Ipad and Iphone. Such market moves make the company ahead of the competition because the rivals are yet to make such a move. Both Time Warner and Netflix have challenges when penetrating and sustaining the market. These problems are occasioned by the competitive environment and intense competition due to new market entrants and shift in technology. Time Warner faces intense and formidable competition in all its business segments generating revenues. The AOL Division in the company faces substantial challenges against tech giants firms such as Google and Microsoft (Cabral Natividad 2016). In addition, other companies challenging its market base includes social media companies such as MySpace, Fox Interactive Media, and Facebook because they compete for internet-based revenues. Further traditional media companies such as ValueClick and Broadband access providers have introduced the challenges of offering web services (Appleyard 2015). Evens Donders (2016) enunciates that Intense competition also threatens time Warner's business categories like the film entertainment due to technological shift and entrance of websites with capabilities such as user-generated content, internet streaming, and interactive games. Besides, alternatives like satellite and cable providers have taken the competition higher. In the recent years, emerging competitors are launching products like websites and magazines targeting celebrity and women segments that encroach on timer warner business. An example includes InStyle, Warnerss People, Fortune magazines, and Real Simple. The level of competition most likely affects the pricing, the profit margin, and market share (Sawhney Sawhney 2017). According to Appleyard (2015), piracy of television is on the increase, and Time Warner Inc. is one of the principal victims as it content is including DVD, motion pictures programming, and video games. Piracy is enabled by sophisticated technology that allows pirates to create and transmit high-quality illegal content from the media. The effects include revenue reduction. There is also a large dependence on some services on Google such as AOL network and products. Review of Google pricing strategy is likely to have a significant adverse effect on its operations and revenues. According to Teece (2010), Netflix also faces challenges in sustaining and penetrating to new markets across the globe. The company is experiencing declining margins and growing losses. The company revenue is facing pressure due to the massive decline of DVD memberships that generate more revenues than others do. Besides, the firm is struggling with the costs of expanding to other markets. This has seen the deterioration of its profit margins attributed to international expansion. According to Lamberton Stephen (2015), another issue is unsustainable content costs that are growing at an alarming rate because the firms content obligations are increasing significantly. Competition is also intense, and the cost of licensing is becoming bigger. Netflix heavily relies on other media firms for content. These companies also seem to be its market rivals competing for viewers. An example is a Time Warner that producers content and sell it to Netflix for streaming service. These companies sometimes extend the time between the run of the original show and the time it is distributed to Netflix. Besides, the content may become more expensive which can force the company to increase its market rate leading to loss of consumers and revenue (Teece 2010). Kovacs Jansen (2015) adds that penetrating the international market is becoming difficult for the enterprise. While it may be gaining market in Latin America, other regions like Europe are becoming competitive due to the entrance of regional competitors. Conquering international market means handling price challenges emanating from content coming with global rights because the Netflix is used to local license that was a bit less costly. Comparison and Contrasts Both companies strategies have some similar attributes that can be compared and contrasted. Both strategies aim at making the companies market leaders, and therefore effort is concentrated in inventing the product, incorporating, and identifying unique characters, which meet the customer needs. Such a market move by an organization is aimed at adding value to the product and then making them look distinct to attract consumers who will at the end purchase it with a good price. For example, this is evident when Netflix market strategy when it began renting videos online and while Time Warner concentrated on subscription of cable television to capture the consumers. Besides, both have adopted digital marketing strategies that rely on internet marketing technology. Working with other companies like Samsung and Apple also shows the convergent of strategies used to become competitive in the market. However, there is a variation in how the company set their market prices to recover the cost of production. While Netflix has lowered the prices, TimeWarner is dropping its prices to capture many consumers. When both seek to expand internationally, the differences is how they reach the target markets. Netflix adopts digital strategy while TimeWarner uses a mixture such as door-to-door, cable, radio, and television advertising. References Albarran, A.B. and Gormly, R.K., 2004. The Awakening The Birds, The Lovers And The Widow Essay Example For Students

The Awakening The Birds, The Lovers And The Widow Essay In the novel, The Awakening there are several motifs or images that assist in developing Edna Pontellier in her â€Å"awakening†, the birds, the lovers and the woman and black all prove to be important parts in this. It is significant that The Awakening opens with two caged birds. Throughout the novel, Edna feels that marriage enslaves her to an identity she for which she is not suited. The parrot is an expensive bird valued for its beauty. The mockingbird is fairly common and plain, and it is valued for the music it provides. These two birds function as metaphors for the position of women in late Victorian society. Women are valued for their physical appearance and the entertainment they can provide for the men in their lives. Like parrots, they are not expected to voice opinions of their own, but to repeat the opinions that social convention defines as proper or respectable.† The parrot shrieks Go away! Damnation!† These are the first lines of The Awakening, and they signal the essentially tragic nature of the novel. The parrot speaks French, a little Spanish, and a language which nobody understood.† Again, the parrot serves as a metaphor for Ednas predicament. As she becomes more defiant, she voices unconventional opinions about the sacred institutions of marriage, gender, and motherhood. Later in the novel, Mademoiselle uses wings as a metaphor for Ednas decision to defy social conventions. She warns Edna, â€Å"138† When she asks where Edna wants to soar, she means to ask Edna if she is sure that she can escape her gilded cage. If she fails, she will become one of the sad spectacles of the birds that fail. At the end of the novel, a bird with a broken wing sinks into the surf. The bird symbolizes Ednas failure to achieve the very goal that has driven her actions the entire time. In the end, Ednas freedom takes place in death. This is the choice that social convention allows her. We will write a custom essay on The Awakening The Birds, The Lovers And The Widow specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Throughout the entire novel, the two young lovers are usually represented in conjunction with the woman in black. The two lovers are important symbols in The Awakening. Since the lovers always appear in conjunction with the woman in black, they foreshadow the eventual failure of Robert and Ednas love for one another. The contrast between the woman in black and the young lovers has a symbolic relationship to the love between Robert and Edna. The woman in black represents the logical conclusion to the conventional womans life if her husband dies first. However, there is no old couple to represent Robert and Ednas contented futures. Therefore, the lovers and the woman in black foreshadow the failure of their love. Furthermore, there is no figure to symbolize the old age of the rebellious woman represented in Edna. The absence of this figure foreshadows Ednas suicide at the end of the novel. It implies that Edna must choose between conforming to social conventions or disappearing from th e symbolic scene of the stages of a Victorian womans life. English Essays

ZEN WORKS essays

ZEN WORKS essays Zero Effort Networks (Z.E.N. works) is a great new tool in NetWare 5, that makes the network administrator's job a lot easier by allowing him to spend less time at each user workstation. To be able to use the Z.E.N. works these are the minimum hardware requirements: Ø Memory: 16 MB (for Windows 95); 24 MB (for Windows NT) Ø Hard disk space: 4 MB (workstation; 24 MB (full station) Z.E.N. works needs to be installed on the server and the client on the workstation needs to be updated. During the installation process Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs) are copied to the workstation. DLLs contain subprograms that are called by an application to perform certain operations. Another utility that is included in Z.E.N. works to help the distribution and management of applications is the Application Launcher, which consists of four major components: Ø Application objects in the NDS tree Ø Application Launcher Window and Application object The snAppShot utility allows you take a "snapshot" of the Windows workstation before installing the application. The snapshot includes Registry settings along with the names of system and application files on the workstation. After the application has been installed, the snAppShot utility takes another picture of the workstation's configuration and then uses the two snapshots to create an Application Object Template (AOT) file. The Application Launcher uses the AOT file to determine what Registry settings and system files need to be copied to the workstation to run the application from the network. In addition to including configuration settings and system file names, the AOT file also contains the name of the Application object and the path where you want to store the AOT and installation files. Consequently, before running the snAppShot utility, you need to define the name you want to use for the Application object and decide where the ...

Domestic Violence and Pregnancy Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Domestic Violence and Pregnancy - Research Paper Example Domestic violence as an issue pertaining the health of pregnant women involves nurses. Nurses are the persons who take care of the women, and help them address their issues. Introduction Domestic violence is a public health menace that results in the most injury to women in America. Domestic violence has been observed to begin, or increase during pregnancy. There are no typical relationships that are more prone to abuse than others. This is what makes it hard in addressing domestic violence during pregnancy. The impact of battering of women during pregnancy does not only affect the battered person. The infant and the family are also impacted on by the violent behaviour. Nurses in dealing with pregnant women have to make certain considerations in their assessment of the situation. In nursing care, the nurse has to carry out a physical and mental assessment of the battered woman. The nurse also has a role to play in helping curb domestic violence during pregnancy. These issues are addr essed in this essay. Domestic violence as it relates to pregnancy starts like domestic violence under any other conditions. There is a three-stage pattern that domestic violence follows, even when the woman involved is pregnancy. The first stage is tension-building which may last for many years (Schuiling & Likis, 2012). The abuse during this time is minor and is easily overlooked. Acts such as slapping and verbal abuse are taken lightly; whereas, in reality, they are the signs of danger. The second stage is called acute battering and is characterized by overt battering. This phase takes short periods of time but is the heart of the matter. The third phase known as the honeymoon phase follows closely after the acute battering. The barterer is remorseful of his acts and behaves in a way to convince the victim that they will be non-violent. Abuse during pregnancy focuses on areas that place the life of the unborn baby at risk. During nursing care, there are considerations that a nurse has to make when assessing domestic violence during pregnancy. First, the nurse has to consider the effect that the stress may have on the pregnant woman. During pregnancy, the woman is delicate and needs physical, mental, and emotional stability (Jasinski, 2004). In the event of abuse in the relationship, these spheres of the woman’s life are affected. As a result, the mother, infant, and other children in the family feel the repercussions. Battering impacts all persons around the battered pregnant woman, one way or another. When a pregnant woman is abused, she suffers stress, which affects her feeding. The woman may lose weight because of the stress. The unborn baby is placed at a risk since it depends on the mother for its nutrition. Other children in the family may also witness their pregnant mother being abused. Such children develop fear for the other parent leading to a dysfunctional society. Such children also may develop behavioural adjustments since they live in co nstant fear that stems from the violence that surrounds them. The development of such children is hampered by these incidences. They may also become overtly violent, as they vent the frustrations of watching helplessly as their mother is abused. Long-range effects are also possible in cases of domestic violence (Alksnis & Taylor). If a girl-child witnesses her mother being battered and the barterer suffers no consequences, the child might assume this is normal behaviour during pregnancy. The

International Transport Companies Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

International Transport Companies - Essay Example Transport is one of the primary requirements of the modern age since the ability to move from one point on the planet to another gives human beings the chance to engage in many activities that make our way of life possible. In fact, international trade, humanitarian assistance, global commerce and even the process of globalization itself could be completely stalled if the present means of international transport were not there. The IRU (2002) reports that: â€Å"Issues in transport directly concern the whole functioning of international trade system. In fact, any transport network failures may be assimilated to "blood clots" obstructing free movement of people, goods and services, and hindering sustainable development of world economy. (IRU, 2002, Pg. 1)† With the existence of international transport, international laws also prohibit the transport of certain goods from one nation to another and wherever there are laws to prohibit something there is money to be made in breaking the law. This means that there is a thriving underground network of transporters who knowingly or unknowingly are busy transporting humans, drugs, weapons, chemicals and even animals that have certain restrictions placed on them (Wikipedia, 2006). The transport of such goods creates several problems for international transport companies, therefore, the company themselves, as well as the governments they deal with, have to work towards minimizing the associated problems. Fundamentally, if an international transport company of repute plays by the book, then the company knows fully that engaging in the transport of illegal/unwanted goods will have negative effects on the operations of the company. For example, productivity would be hurt because the ratio of goods and services which are provided by the company might need more inputs from the labor and the management to prevent the presence of stowaways or smuggled goods.

The Sociological Imagination SOC 131 Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

The Sociological Imagination SOC 131 - Assignment Example In the Jakarta Post, Achmad Munjid talks about how religion can be used as a social critique. He commented that the social critique of religion is lessened when religion is controlled too much by those in power. This causes religion to not provide sociological imagination because those in authority tend to make religion as strict as possible, with those unable to keep up being punished for their sins. Munjid gives the example of Christianity under the rule of Constantine. He also makes reference to Islam after the great prophet Muhammad had passed away. Despite these examples, Munjid also mentions such individuals as Martin Luther, the Buddha, and Confucius, all of whom came to bring about social reform through their actions and words. More people today need to come from the point of view of one of these role models and not look to take advantage of

Clothing and Darkness in Shakespeares Macbeth :: GCSE English Literature Coursework

Use of Imagery in Macbeth  Ã‚   In Macbeth, William Shakespeare uses many forms of imagery, including the forms of clothing and darkness. Each detail in his imagery contains an important symbol of the play. These symbols that must be understood if one is to understand either the passage which contains it or the play as a whole. In Macbeth, the image of clothing is used to suggest that throughout the play, Macbeth is seeking to hide his "disgraceful self" from his eyes and from others. Shakespeare wants to keep alive the ironical contrast between the wretched creature that Macbeth really is and the disguises he assumes to conceal that fact. Secondly, honors are thought of as garments to be worn; likewise, Macbeth is constantly represented symbolically as the wearer of robes not belonging to him. He is wearing an "undeserved dignity." A crucial point in describing the purpose of clothing in ‘Macbeth' is found in the fact that these are not his garments. Therefore, Macbeth is uncomfortable in them because he is continually conscious of the fact that they do not belong to him. In the following passage, the idea constantly recurs that Macbeth's new honours sit ill upon him, like a loose and badly fitting garment, belonging to someone else:    New honours come upon him,    Like our strange garments, cleave not to their mould,    But with the aid of use.    (1.3.144) The second, most important chain of imagery used to add to the atmosphere is that of darkness. In a Shakespearean tragedy, a special tone, or atmosphere, must be created to show the darkness and blackness of it. In Macbeth, Shakespeare uses the design of the witches, the guilt in Macbeth's soul, and the darkness of the night to establish the atmosphere. The most remarkable scenes take place at night or in some dark spot. For instance, the vision of the dagger, the murder of Duncan, the murder of Banquo, and Lady Macbeth's sleep-walking all occur at night. Darkness is when the traveler hastens to reach safety in his inn, when Banquo rides homeward to meet his assassins. Furthermore, it is the time when the wolf howls, the owl screams and murder steals forth to his work. The darkness symbolizes many things. First, and most importantly, it stands for the death and evil in the play. The darkness could partially block out all of the horrible things that occur in the night.

Corporate Partnerships

Hurley Corporate Partnerships Corporate partnerships allow schools to gain extra cash by advertising a product or service around the school, this allows the school to gain extra money and the company possible sales. The supporters of corporate partnerships argue that it is a necessity for cash stripped schools. However the other side argues that school environment should be ad free and uninfluenced by corporations. I believe that corporate partnerships are a necessary part of our schools and only hold benefits, up to a certain point.Too much advertising could be distracting or even annoying for students, it should be up to the school to decide the perfect balance of education and ads. The advocates for corporate partnerships argue that; it provides schools with money that they possibly couldn't have raised before. They argue that the money gained could be used on multiple things, from things such as buying new updated books, hiring new teachers or even to finance a new wing for the m ain building as In the case of Calcareous HAS. Monitored advertisements for a certain product possibly oldest have an effect on student focus or learning. In Calcareous HAS we have ad banners on the bleachers near the football field. From my experience I haven't seen any student second glance at them or even give them a second thought, but It does provide the school with much needed money for construction projects. Who knows If we would've been able to afford a new wing to replace the portables without that aid. The opposing side argues that corporate partnerships take away from the learning environment. They argue that schools should always provide an environment free room corporate Influence and ads. What the backers of the opposing side don't take into account Is that students are already Influenced by ads every day, from the clothes they wear to the food they eat. Students see ads on TV's, radios, the Internet, the APS on their phone etc. Seeing ads In a school won't affect the st udent dramatically enough to dissuade him or her from learning. The promoters for the opposing side argue that corporate Influence In critical places such as the library or classrooms could distract the student from learning and are too extreme.I agree with this because classrooms and library are the place of learning, you should be able to read a book or write an essay without an advertisement for the new Nikkei shoes In your face. I believe that advertisements In learning areas would be annoying and are a violation of the students rights. This Is a heated topic that requires much thought and research. While advertisements In critical learning areas might be annoying and a hindrance to the average student. The Problem Of Health Care - 893 Words

Access to health care is a key element in improving health, therefore, over the past four decades reforming health care seems to have taken center stage. Since stepping out of the shadows, the idea of health care as a managed competition has been evolving. The definition of the managed competition is that of â€Å"a purchasing strategy to obtain maximum value for consumers and employers, using rules for competition derived from microeconomic principles,† (Enthoven, 1993). In a world of health care that now focuses on chronic diseases, the concept of health insurance becomes even more important; by many seen as a human right. With the change of focus from infectious disease to chronic disease health care executives, insurance and economic specialist began looking at a system that has over forty years appeared to be in dire need of reorganization and management. An ideal system would provide an efficient market as well as promote competition among various health plans. These par ticular managed plans would place a value on the cost of care as well as on the quality. With the value of money placed on the health care system restructure would change how patients receive services from providers. In the U.S. health care system an outline of managed competition means that a reformed system allows American’s a preference of variety, individual choice and universal coverage.
